This picture book is great because it teaches kids about the importance of sharing and the value of friendship. There are amazing illustrations that can be presented with fun sound effects for read-aloud story time, with lots of opportunities to create participation with the different foods shown and munching sounds. A truly fun read for all!

This is a fun way to cross many subjects using just one story, which can be difficult to do for the younger grades. If you are working with older students, you can use this as a great way to introduce cause and effect. There are so many directions you can take this story in your classroom or library. It will become an instant hit with your students!
At the end-of-camp ball, she is disappointed that she didn't learn how to be a traditional princess, as she had hoped. But when a dragon shows up and every one screams "Call Knight-1-1!" the princess decides to take matters into her own hands and karate chops, skate boards and runs circles around the dragon until she defeats him. The story ends by proclaiming that she is the darling of the kingdom just the way she is - a great message for all kids, both girls and boys! This picture book is so much fun, and the colorful illustrations contain unexpected graphic novel-like cartoon boxes. It should win over both princess-loving and princess-hating children!
From Louisa Diliberti, Penworthy Sales Representative My new favorite set of books is "Olive & Beatrix" by Amy Marie Stadelmann. These easy, transitional chapter books are about the adventures of twin sisters, Olive and Beatrix. Beatrix is a witch with magic powers, while Olive is a normal girl. The sisters are both relatable and lots of fun! The books are short, so kids who are transitioning into chapter books will find success and reading confidence. The Olive & Beatrix books will appeal to both girls and boys because they are full of adventure, imagination, sibling stories and, of course, wacky hijinks!
