Dear Justice League Written by Michael Northrop, illustrated by Gustavo Duarte, colored by Marcelo Maiolo, and lettered by Wes Abbott This colorful and wacky graphic novel is perfect for readers young and old. The Justice League's Superheroes answer emails (and letters, in one case), from their biggest young fans asking them for life advice, the questions on friendship, or just about funny personal details of their lives. Does superman ever make mistakes? Does Green Lantern feel constrained in his fashion choices by his limited color palette? Besides having wings, does Hawkgirl share other… appetites with her avian namesake? Honest and humorous answers shown by taking us an actual day in the life of each character, assures kids it's okay to mess up and that being a superhero is not too different from being a kid. All the characters are portrayed with selfless heroism and awe-inspiring powers, but still come across as relatable, good-natured and human. Each of the eight Superheroes have their own chapter, introducing us to their specific powers, traits and characteristics. Written so that whether the reader is unfamiliar with the Justice League or is an avid fan, the stories are fun, fresh, interesting and engaging. Also, there's an underlying story building throughout the book as each Superhero is using their own special powers to defend the earth from an alien insect invasion. The last chapter is the perfect accumulation of all of them working together to defeat the forces of evil. A wild captivating journey from beginning to end, Dear Justice League, is a great graphic novel for readers of all ages. The graphic format presents an amazing strong visual identity and the quirky, hysterical stories are captivating. Great for all types of readers. Joan Schimmels, Sales Representative With The Rise of Skywalker expected to be a $450M global opening, it's fair to say that Star Wars still holds popularity among all ages! But with this film, comes the end of another trilogy and the final episode of the Skywalker Saga. The movie follows Rey as she searches for the strength of all the Jedis that have come before her. Rey, Fin, Poe, and their loyal droid friends (old and new) must once again take on the First Order to save the resistance one last time. Will the gang be victorious and save all of the free worlds in the galaxy, or will Kylo Ren destroy them all in efforts to become the Supreme Leader of the Sith? Having seen the movie opening night, I suggest you venture out to the theaters yourself and see this one on the big screen, you won't be disappointed! But with the end of the Saga, what does that mean for Star Wars fans who anxiously anticipate the release of another movie? Get comfortable and study up on the old Episodes, because there isn't another planned release reportedly until 2022. There has been some discussion about who will write, direct, and star in the next films, but fans can expect to hear more details about all of that in January 2020. I'm sure the Star Wars franchise will give us just enough teasers here and there to keep us all on the edge of our seats for the next three years. And if you need something new to tide you over between movies, you can always tune into the Mandalorian on Disney+. In case you've missed all of the "baby Yoda" memes taking social media by storm, he is one of the new characters from the popular show that started streaming on November 12th. Disney+ has been releasing one episode a week, and the first season will conclude on December 27th. The story follows a Mandalorian, or 'Mando' for short, that is played by Pedro Pascal. A Mandalorian is a bounty hunter who is known for being a strong warrior and a rare find in the universe. In one of the Mandalorians bounty missions, he encounters a child, which fans have dubbed as "baby Yoda". With this series being set years after the Jedi Grand Master Yoda has passed, he's not actually baby Yoda, but he's of the same species and he has certainly captured the hearts of fans across the globe! And when all else fails and you've run out of Star Wars to watch, you can always read a book instead! Jim Huebner, Sales Representative In case you haven't heard, Fortnite is STILL popular! 5.5 million gamers watched the Fortnite map get blown up on October 13th, and then held their breath as it remained black for two days. When it finally returned, fans let out a sigh of relief as their screens displayed Fortnite Chapter 2. So what's next? While the battlegrounds are almost unrecognizable with completely new island settings, the overall premise hasn't changed. The main goal of the game is to survive. You are dropped on an island from a Battle Bus, and once you're on the ground, it's every man or woman for themselves. You can strategize by collecting resources, building forts, or making alliances, but at the end of each match, there can only be one winner. But the age old argument is, "is it too violent for kids to play?". Everyone can determine what they feel is appropriate for their own children, but compared to some of the other video games on the market, it is a relatively fluffy game. Yes, the point is to "eliminate" your competitors, however, there is never any blood or gore depicted in the game. Instead, when you are eliminated, a beam of light essentially vaporizes you up into the clouds. After you've been eliminated, you can continue to log in and play in different matches and rounds. There are also ways to heal and recover, and spend time harvesting materials and building structures. In conclusion, the game isn't solely based on violence, there is no gore, and it's something that the kids enjoy, so let them have fun! And there are some pretty fun dance moves that have been trending from Fortnite victories, and we a can all enjoy that entertainment! Check out some of the best dances from the original seasons here, you won't be disappointed and might even learn some new moves. But its favorite is little children. The author warns the reader to get away, close the book! Why didn’t you close it? Now you’re in trouble, there’s no escape! And just as the monster is about to eat the reader he burps and everything he ate comes out of his stomach and back to its place and the monster takes a nap so the reader is able to escape! Excellent book for story time, the illustrations grow larger as the monster comes closer, giving a real feeling of an on coming monster. Guaranteed to get the kiddos engaged!
